Professional welding services are also an integral part of our fabrication and engineering projects, facilitating the formation and adaption of various metal objects and structures.

Operating from our workshop in the Vale of Glamorgan, we are able to professionally employ a variety of welding techniques, selecting the best process for each application and material, in order to produce the very best results. In addition to the huge variety of metalwork conducted at Printmet HQ, we are also able to perform a selection of on-site welding services, covering a wide range of industry demands. This can vary from simple repair work and maintenance operations, to the complete engineering and installation of steel structures.
The materials we work with include:
  • Stainless Steel
  • Mild Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Brass

ARC is one of the most versatile welding techniques we offer, thanks to the fact that it can be readily employed in a variety of applications, using a choice of electrodes. Thanks to the simplicity and portability of equipment, it’s a great choice for on-site welding, and is highly adaptable for use in confined spaces and remote locations. In addition to its versatility and transportability, ARC welding is also highly cost-effective, making it a great choice for a large number of operations.
MIG is the most commonly-used welding technique in our fabrication workshop, and is performed using a small, continuously fed electrode. It can be used to weld almost any metal, but it is most often associated with the welding of carbon and stainless steel. MIG welding is one of our most popular services we provide, due to its fast and cost-efficient nature, which allows us to provide great value-for-money to our clients.
TIG welding is a two-handed welding process, involving the production of an arc using a TIG torch, whilst using the other hand to add filler metal to the weld joint. This is an advanced welding technique which is highly versatile across a range of materials, producing a superior quality weld when professionally applied. This is a particularly useful technique for completing highly precise welding operations, such as critical weld joints.
Spot Welding
Spot welding is one of the oldest forms of resistance welding, and is used to join metal parts together without the use of a filler material, using shaped copper electrodes to convey the electrical current through the materials. This technique is often used for welding low carbon steel, but can also be suitable for aluminium welding operations, providing that higher levels of current are used.
